Gabriel and Daniel: Brothers!

Hello everyone!  I have been away from the blogging realm for a couple weeks and now I have a few pictures to post.  These are actually from around Christmas time but I never got around to posting them.  Sad, because they are of Gabe and Dan, my future spouse and my future brother.  And these two are looking good in their uniforms.

I hope that all you of readers are well.  The sun hasn’t shone for awhile and that can do a number on some people.  I really like cloudy days but even I am starting to feel it.  So, let us all think about something sunny and yellow (like my cute, new skirt from Fossil below) to lift our moods.  Soon it will be spring…118 days until I get MARRIED!

Happy Monday!

G’day.

I just drank several cups of coffee, ate a very fast bowl of cereal and now my stomach hurts.  Oops.  And as I sip more coffee, I thought I’d share a photo of my new business, cards, envelopes, and letterhead with you.  It’s below:

I officially feel like MLP is growing up and I am very proud of what this little business is becoming.  2010 will be a big year for MLP, like 2009.  How so?  A few of my goals for 2010 are to participate in wedding shows (did my first one on the 10th!), offer more products to my clients, and to find more locations for photo shoots.  I am sure the list will continue to grow.  Last year I learned so much and did so much.  Sometimes it is hard to imagine the type of change that I know will inevitably occur.  But it will.  I look back at my first website (I thought it was the end all, be all) and then at my new one and appreciate change.  A LOT.

2009 was such a good year for me.  Sometimes I am tempted to wish I could live it again.  Here are some highlights (these are in random order):

Met my love, Gabriel.

Shot 29 weddings with my mom and Gabe and shot 50+ photo shoots.

Resigned from my old job to work on MLP full time.

Attended the Love Affair Workshop.

Saw Gabe graduate from boot camp.

My work for Asbury College was published.

Got engaged.

MLP got a face lift in the form of new website, colors and logo.

Have a great week!

Ada’s First Birthday Party

Hello everyone!  Today is my first Saturday of the year without anything wedding-oriented.  Last weekend I was buzzing around preparing for the Kentucky Bride Bridal Show.  By the way, the show was a great success for me!  Two consultations just today!  Thanks to everyone for stopping by by booth.

Below are a few pictures from Ada’s birthday party last weekend.  Ada is my friend, Lizbeth’s, daughter and she is too cute.  This little one-year-old had a blast!

I have a wedding update!  We have a reception site…for sure.  I was telling everyone that the reception was at Highbridge Pavilion and now it is official.  My mom, Natalie (1 of 3 MOHs.  That’s right), and me stood outside a couple weeks ago in Jessamine County and we got it!  Yay!  The pavilion is a big and beautiful canvas on which we will design and decorate for one awesome party!  Hopefully.  Right now I am working on Save the Dates.  Any invitations/paper people recommendations would be much appreciated.

Have a fun Saturday night!

Sarah and Matt.

I shoot this wedding a couple weekends ago in IN.  Sarah and her family are old friends and it was a pleasure to work with them and be a part of their day.  Below are some of my favorites from the day.

A good word for me and all of you fellow brides out there!

Jennifer and Miller

Hi all and happy 2010!I am planning a New Year’s post for later this week or next, but for now I have some pictures from this past weekend’s wedding.  New Year’s weekend was a double-header for me.  One in Frankfort, one in Indianapolis.  Both went very well, but think I am still tired!  Up first are Jennifer and Miller.  These two are from the South but ending up meeting all the way over in Oregon were they work and go to school.  They we a joy to work with and I am very thankful to have been a part of their day.  They put a lot of work and thought into their beautiful ceremony so I posted a few more than usual.  Enjoy them, Jen and Miller.  Blessing and many thanks!

A whole lot of cheer and happiness.

Christmas this year was awesome.  I spent my first Christmas Gabe’s family and it was so much fun!  Below are a few photos to summarize our Christmases in Louisville and Lex.

PS – The new website is launched!  Check it out.  Go to “Website” up above in the menu bar.

Gabe in his Christmas sweater.  I have one too, and it is even crazier than Gabe’s.  We decided to wear them to Louisville to ring in the Christmas festivities.

Sweet, happy, adorable cousin Sawyer.

Action shot!  Jack and ball.  This took Gabe and me about ten times to catch on camera.

We all got these awesome hats from Gabe’s mom.  Dan’s makes him look happy, mine makes me look mischievous, and Gabe’s make him look likes he is getting down to business.

Holly and Nathan

Holly and Nathan were my last wedding of the year last weekend.  What a great way to end the wedding season.  These two were very relaxed and fun!  And I can tell they love each other A LOT.  Blessings to both.

Why have the colors changed?

Hello all and Merry Christmas!  Just a little update on MLP: I have a new website!  Almost.  Here’s a sneak peek below.  Should be up today or tomorrow depending on my hosting company.  That’s why my colors have changed.  Time for an update.  Next change coming soon: LOGO!

Merry Christmas!  I’ll be back in the office next week to check emails.  Have a great holiday!Picture 8

Bridgette and Ryan

Last weekend Gabe and I traveled to the Buckeye State to shoot our friends’, Ryan and Bridgette, wedding.  I shot the wedding and Gabe was a groomsman.  It was a stunning wedding for sure…in a castle/country club/old Catholic seminary.  We had a fun time seeing old college friends too.  So much fun that I came back with a ton of great pictures and without a voice!  It was nice to have Gabe there to translate my whispers.

Nephews!

The other day I shoot a few pictures of Nathan and Noah for Christmas presents.  My sister got these great pajamas and I think they look adorable.

The year is wrapping up.  I am currently editing a new website and designing a few albums for a 2010 bridal show I am doing and to update MLP!  I spent all of yesterday (and probably today).  I’ve enjoyed perusing about 35 weddings from the past year and half.  I am so thankful for all of the clients I’ve had in 08 and 09 and feel so blessed.  It’s funny, I can remember all of the weddings, like they were yesterday.  Anniversary dates and all.  I feel like a kindergarten teacher who doesn’t forget her students.  But that’s how important this job is to me.   I love it!

PS – Come visit me, Gabe, and Nan at the KY Bridal Show on January 10th, if you are registered to go.  I’d love to see/meet you!  I may be doing a little vendor perusing of my own.  I need a cake and florist and invitations.

PSS – Oh yeah.  I BOUGHT A WEDDING DRESS!  It rocks.blog2blog1blog3
